Dos & Don'ts For Print Marketing

Print media marketing is a form of advertising, using physically printed media like flyers, brochures, banners, magazines, and newspapers. In order to reach a large count of potential consumers and to reach those consumers consistently enough so that they can know who you are and what services you provide, you have to use several different mediums. For achieving such tasks, print marketing is used.

Here are a few Dos and Don’ts you need to keep in mind before using print media marketing in order to achieve the marketing goals you have prepared in your mind.

Dos

  1. Do set ad specifications before designing it. As accurate page size, color setting, active areas, etc should be given appropriately to the graphic design services in order to get an effective design so that it may not need any rearrangements in your design.
  2. Do choose your medium carefully to reach your target audience precisely. Such as, if you want to target local people of your city, you should prefer local magazines instead of national magazines and newspapers. It will help you to get your advertisement done in a cost-effective manner. If you want to reach a large number of people all over the country and globe you can use national newspaper and international magazines.
  3. The ad should be reviewed in the actual size in which it will get printed. While creating the design for the ad, you might have seen it in an enlarged way with all the specifications. But before you give it for any publication, you must print and view it, in order to make sure all the words are large enough to get read
  4. Add “Phone no” or “website address”  in your magazines or newspapers, so that they can know how they can reach you and take advantage of your products and services. And the basic intention behind all types of print media advertisements is to reach people so that they can know about your services and can easily reach you.
  5. Check the size and quality of graphics and pictures in your print. As high-quality graphics printing lays a deep impact on the audience’s brain. People connect to pictures more than texts, so do not forget to add pictures and graphics in your magazines and newspapers.

Don’ts

  1. Ads should convey messages and should also have an eye-catching effect. In order to achieve an eye-catching effect, don’t clutter the ad with many graphics and visuals.
  2. Easy way to clutter up ad is by adding too many texts in it. Try to tell your audience in pictures also, it becomes an easy task for them to understand. Don’t use too many texts for explaining any topic or service, instead of that you may use a few pictures to convey your message.
  3. Don’t use anyone's image or phrase for your ad without their permission.  Such acts can result in penalties as well as can bring damage to your business and disgrace to your name. You need to have the permission of that person, before using them in Print marketing.
  4. Don’t forget to keep white spaces in your print. There is a great need for leaving white spaces in it. It increases the readability of the article and makes it look clean and organized.
